C.DRIVE2

The Eco Tyre

C-Drive-2.png

The C.drive2 is for a step up from the BluEarth AE01. It offers better handling for everyday motorists or families looking for a safe feel and secure grip on wet roads.

The asymmetrical pattern gives a smooth and quiet ride and crucial stability in emergency situations. The C.drive2 suits hatchbacks, medium size sedans, people movers and vehicles with sports or luxury pack upgrades.

C.drive2 features a new compound with polymers that have a higher molecular weight and increased volume of silica than previous types. The long polymers are intertwined with one another, increasing the strength of the rubber to provide excellent handling performance. Using more silica while reducing carbon helps to reduce heat, thus lowering rolling resistance. The addition of orange oil makes the rubber more flexible, for better gripping performance in both dry and wet conditions.

The C.drive's 'Full Logic' asymmetrical tread pattern has now been enhanced even further. The positioning of the grooves provides superior performance on both wet and dry surfaces. The maximized contact area in the outer zone and the shortened lug grooves on the inside shoulder are designed to maintain rigidity when cornering, whilst the four wide straight grooves. The spiral drain grooves on the centre ribs are effective in draining water. Diamond-shaped bevels ease the stress on the central rib, which prevents uneven wear.

A.DRIVE R1

Excitement on Demand

A-Drive-R1.png

The A.driveR1 is Yokohama's entry level low profile sports performance tyre and is excellent value for money. Upgrade your car's performance, especially if you upgrade its wheels. The "R1" is an aggressive, stylish low profile directional tyre which gives good value performance in both wet and dry conditions. It suits hot hatches, turbo cars and some larger sports sedans.

Large sized shoulder blocks mean cornering control is light and responsive, and the hightly effective centre rib is great for ‘on-centre’ feel and outstanding safety. All told, Yokohama has gone to the limits to produce a tyre for lightweight sports cars and roadsters that should more than satisfy even the most demanding drivers.

Four straight grooves and multiple large blocks, plus a tread pattern based on a centre rib, offer high rigidity and the security of maximum performance in the wet. For the driver this means the co-existence of highly responsive cornering and the safety born of uncompromising technology.

Not to be overlooked by every true aficianado of on-road performance is ‘style’. The A.drive R1’s aggressive tread pattern is not merely the perfect choice for those seeking ‘low profile’ high performance, it has a sidewall design to match. Just one look will tell you that this is the sports care tyre of choice.

SUV/4WD

Geolander G012 A/T-S

Rugged in a Sophisicated Way

G012.png

Modern 4WD’s are becoming more refined & luxurious- fit the right all terrain tyre and they’re also very capable off road. The Geolandar G012 A/T-S gives impressive all terrain capability without generating the tyre noise and harshness typical of all terrain tyres on the tarmac. The tread compound on the G012 A/T-S is cut and chip resistant and Silent Tyre Technology from the passenger range makes the G012 A/T-S a surprisingly quiet all terrain tyre.

Unwanted tyre noise can increase significantly when the tyre wears unevenly. The Geolandar A/T-S features rounded-edge intermediate blocks that have 3D pyramid-like zigzag sipes. This configuration helps reduce uneven wear as extra rigidity reduces block deformation under stress. These blocks are then arranged in a 5 pitch variation theme to reduce tyre noise to an absolute minimum.

Following exhaustive testing around the world Yokohama has formulated the very best A/T compound to date. The silica based tread compound not only offers superb grip in the wet but it also delivers improved tread mileage.

The patented “multi-step” grooves between the tread blocks is part of the secret to Geolandar A/T-S’s superb off-road traction. It helps clear mud and dirt to increase the tyre’s biting edges for enhanced traction on loose off-road surfaces.

Geolander G051 H/T -S

Making Tracks In Style

G051.png

The Geolandar G051 H/T-S suits small to large 4WD/SUV’s used mainly for commuting and ferrying the family around. It’s designed for safe handling, low noise and long mileage and it’s not too aggressive and works well on sand and gravel. Vehicles with a high centre of gravity are susceptible to rollover accidents when cornering and this is why the Geolandar G051 H/T-S has large shoulder blocks to provide extra strength and stiffness for safe handling and braking. The two wide straight grooves improve water evacuation to increase wet traction on slippery roads, while the specially developed tread compound is capable of delivering superb wet traction without compromising the tyre’s extended mileage capabilities.

The tread pattern is optimised for low noise and even wear. Twin wide straight grooves and cross grooves increase traction on slippery roads while large shoulder blocks assist in cornering. The proprietary compound was developed especially for SUVs to deliver outstanding wet traction without compromising the tyre’s extended mileage capabilities.

High Performance Off-Road

G001-MT.png

The Geolandar M/T is Yokohama's performer for serious off-road enthusiasts. From muddy trails to rocky riverbeds it best suits driving that require extreme off-road appearance and traction. The G001 M/T molds a longer lasting, cut-and-chip resistant tread compound into a beefy, deep-lug directional tread design with a large number of biting edges for enhanced traction. On the outside, the G001 M/T has massive shoulder protectors that provide extra durability and to further enhance cut and puncture resistance.

ORANGE OIL

ORANGE OIL

Many low rolling resistance tyres lack grip on wet roads but Yokohama's patented Orange Oil and Silica Rubber compound restores wet grip and maximises mileage. The Orange Oil technology helps solve the grip problem present in low rolling resistance eco tyres. It allows motorists to save money by using less fuel without compromising grip for safe and confident driving. Typically, Orange Oil is used in detergents and perfumes. The oil doesn't come from the sweet, sticky part of the fruit. It comes from the orange peel. It’s quite acidic and when it touches rubber it softens it. Orange Oil keeps the rubber tyre compound soft and flexible at a micro level so it grips the road. More importantly it works in cold and wet conditions when rubber normally hardens and loses grip.
